We had a nice view of the Tenn-Tom Waterway from the boat yard. Every morning we watched a number of boats heading south, and we were itching to be joining them. The leaves on the trees around the area became more colorful with each passing day; they were so beautiful!
After all the grinding and sanding, we were ready to paint the bottom, but had to wait for another couple of days for it to stop raining! Finally, on Day 10, we were able to apply the first coat of paint and the second coat on Day 11. You can imagine how happy we were to finnaly relaunch Omega on the afternoon of Day 12. Even after all this time, our two major objectives were not accomplished.
The folks at Lee Spry Marine were friendly and nice especially the owner Lee Spry, and his wife Jo; Bill who operated the left, and the three security guys - Bill, Maury and his dog Dadburn, and Nathan and his dog Lucy. We won't forget Sean either, who helped Bill grind one day! Bill, the lift operator, told us to try Ammonia to get the blue streaks off the boat, and we were so grateful!
Needless to say, we'll never forget our 12 days and the Boat Yard Blues!!
