WHEELER AND WILSON LOCKS

Oct. 20 - It wasn't quite so cold this morning, only 43 - a real heat wave!!  We had a two-hour wait to get through Joe Wheeler lock while a large tow was being lifted in two sections.  A photo of the tow leaving the lock is included.  Had to wait another half hour to enter Wilson lock (93 ft), the tallest lock on the Tennessee River, so we didn't arrive back at Grand Harbor marina at Pickwick Lake until almost dark.  Our friend, Chip Lucas, who is on staff at the marina, assigned us to a covered slip.  It felt good to be back at Grand Harbor where we spent the month of July.
