Oct. 22 - It was time to haul Omega out of the water and do some maintenance, so we headed over to Lee Spry Marine a short distance south of Grand Harbor Marina. Little did we know we would be "on the hard" for 12 days! We were allowed to stay on the boat while she was out of the water which saved the expense of a motel. However, it is definitely not what you would call the most convenient style of living!!! While it's impossible to give you the details here, you can probably read between the lines. To get on the boat, we had to climb a ladder up to the swim platform and then climb up our ladder to the aft deck. Only men work in the boat yard, so there is only one restroom facility at the far end of the yard with no lock on the door! We had power for our refrigerator and after the third day, we were able to use the stove and microwave, but we couldn't drain water out of the sinks or showers. On top of all of this, it rained most of the time and was colder than a well digger's pickup! Need we say any more!!
