We are continuing to enjoy our time here at Goose Pond Colony Marina. The scorching heat wave has subsided somewhat, and we've gotten out and about with some of our friends. We've enjoyed two dinghy excursions - one upriver to Mud Creek to a restaurant and the second downriver to Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge for lunch. Both trips were around twenty miles each way. Beautiful scenery to enjoy along the way.

Tommy Stockard and his friend Jackie drove up from Florence, AL to visit and go to lunch on Aug. 27th. We met Tommy here last year when he and his wife Ima came up on their boat to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Sadly Ima passed away in February, and he misses her immensely. We were so happy to get to spend a little time with him.

We were delighted to have our good friends, Jerry and Patti Smith, come to visit on July 29th. They were on their way home to Tavares, FL after vacationing in Waynesville, NC. Jerry was Bill's best man when we were married.
