SUMMERLAND KEY TO CAPE CORAL

We left home on Summerland Key on May 28 around noon when the tide was high.  Our friend, Rodger Hoffman, joined us for our cruise to Ft. Myers Beach.  At the end of our first long day, we anchored at Shark River in the Everglades.  While eating dinner, we had some excitement when a hugh thunderstorm passed over.

On our second day, we made it to Marco Island where we took the tend ashore to the Snook Inn for some great seafood.  The weather was beautiful as we continued on to Ft. Myers beach on day three.  We picked up a mooring ball in the harbor and enjoyed the boating activity going on around us.

We checked out Doc Ford's on the waterfront, which was a fun place.

Rodger returned home on the Ft. Myers-Key West ferry the next day.  The ferry depot was near our anchorage so Bill took him over in our tender.

We enjoyed spending several days with our good friends, Bob and Barbara Fordyce, at their condo in Cape Coral.  They always make us feel so much at home, and we enjoyed getting to know some of their neighbors as well.
