LAST DAYS AT GOOSE POND

Oct. 10 - 21 - It was "Grand Central Station" at Goose Pond Colony Marina each day as Loopers came and went.  We especially enjoyed getting to meet a number of folks on other Defever Yachts, which is the same make as OMEGA.  A few photos will give you an idea of the variety.

Our good friends, Paul and Stacy Brannon (SEASEA), were preparing to depart  for Wheeler State Park Marina to help welcome boaters coming to the Loopers' Rendezvous.  We hosted a luncheon to bid them farewell.

October 17 was a special day.  Grandson Ross drove up from Birmingham for a brief visit.  Unfortunately, his bride Starr was out of town on an assignment for medical school, so she wasn't able to come.  Charlotte gave Ross the afghan she knitted for him and Starr as a wedding gift.  She was only four months late in completing it.  Hope it will be something they will enjoy for many years to come.

For our last evening at Goose Pond, we enjoyed one last visit to the Mexican restaurant with Ray and Pasty Whitney and Jim and Peggy Himburg.  Jim is the Dockmaster at Goose Pond Colony Marina, and we wanted to thank him for all he did for us during our extended stay.

Oct. 21 - All good things come to an end, and it was time for us to cast off and head towards home.  We leave with many good memories of our days at Goose Pond Colony Marina and Scottsboro, AL.

Over the past two years, we have spent four and a half months at Goose Pond Marina in Scottsboro, AL.  During that time we feel we have become a part of the community and have made many new friends.  We will surely miss these friends in this small Tennessee River community.
